The second annual New Jersey Band Conference will take place
Thursday, May 1 through Sunday, May 4, 2008 at The College
of New Jersey (TCNJ.) Conference events and
activities at TCNJ will be held in the 350-seat Concert
Hall, the rehearsal rooms and various other spaces in the
Music Building, the 980-seat Kendall Hall and the 150-seat
Recital Hall, located in the College Library.
Geared for band directors and their bands on the elementary,
middle school, high school, college and professional levels,
this four-day conference will feature a wide range of
performances, exhibits, clinics and workshops.
Performances will include a concert by the renowned United
States Military Academy Band, also known as the West Point
Band. The jazz ensemble of the West Point Band, the Jazz
Knights, will also perform The inaugural performance
of the New Jersey Intercollegiate Band will take place as
part of the conference, along with the New Jersey High
School Concert Band Gala featuring performances by 12 top
high school bands from around the state.
Other
features of the conference will include:

Exhibits
will include musical instruments, accessories and
everything else for the band director.

Clinic
and workshop sessions led by nationally-renowned experts
will
include new music readings and a featured composer
spotlight, among other topics.
All
attendees will receive Professional Development Hours.
